We weren’t quite sure what our camping season in 2025 was going to look like at the start of the year. We knew we were going to want to stay pretty close to home, probably spend some time in the Catskills and maybe trade up to have a new camper. So we put in a few placeholder bookings knowing we’d likely shift some things later.

We had a moment realizing that there weren’t 2025 models being made for the Barefoot and scrambled to get our hands on a 2024 model in the early spring. It wasn’t clear if nuCamp was just too busy to make more or if there was some pause on producing them for another reason. But the 2024 model had most of the fixes we had hoped for and there were a handful of them available across the country.

We ended up trading in the T@B 320S for a Barefoot Caravan and are really excited to sort out camping with our new rig. But around the same time, we found out that Ketu has congestive heart failure and though it has stabilized, he is going to have to take things a bit easier this year. And with the long covid we both have, we need to take things a bit easier too. So this year is about easy, quiet camping. Making it simpler to get camp setup, easier to get on the road, and enjoying the basics. Enjoying the outdoors without suffering or harming ourselves.

It won’t be the most adventurous year of camping, but it will hopefully be a good one.
